This is a perfect example of why home schooling is on the rise.

Indoctrination starts with the young. Did you notice the kid that said "he wanted a black president". Now if one of those kids that supported John McCain would have said that he or she wanted a "white president", would that child have been called a "racist"? You know it. The teacher really should have been fired. She said it was ok for students that supported John McCain to raise their hand, yet she attacked them for doing so. Brainwashing can only work when the subject is constantly trained to mentally "stay within the lines". Every student that raised their hands for Obama were staying within the acceptable lines that the teacher set. When the students that raised their hands for McCain, those students went outside the lines, and were singled out by her. See how it works?

Sure, she represents every teacher in America...right?

One, as such, an opinionated teacher an educational system does not make!

Home schooling is a choice! If you choose to home school your children, fine, home school them.

Frankly, I believe if you have the means, skills and the knowledge to home school your children, it's much better than having them in a classroom of 35-40 other students.

I wonder what is worse. The teacher did this to the little girl or she had what she did to the little girl TAPED and posted so all can see her deeds, as she bragged about it at the end?

I've known the left to be the bastion of hate!

They bully you into accepting their ideology wholesale! They won't permit disagreement.

I thought the teachers actions were bullying and to be expected of a cult leader not a teacher!

What she did was uncalled for and she should be fired!

This teacher was suspended for 10 days an ordered to take "sensitivity" training for telling his students that "CHANGE" was an acronym for Come Help A Nigger Get Elected...

Should this guy be FIRED?

Should a teacher be fired for expressing his or her personal views in the classroom?

P Allen "Sure, she represents every teacher in America...right?"

No allen, she doesn't represent all the teachers in America, but she does represent the percentage of teachers that try in indoctrinate children with their political and ideological bias. These are the same types of teachers that try to teach a revised version of American history. This is why students are so screwed up in the head because of teachers like this allen. If you are naive enough to think that this so called teacher is rare, then you to open your eyes.

p allen "One, as such, an opinionated teacher an educational system does not make!"

Yeah whatever allen. Gee and here I though that teachers are only suppose to teach reading, writing and arithmetic. I didn't know that teachers brow beating students for having views opposite of theirs was about of the curriculum. Silly me I suppose.

p allen "Home schooling is a choice! If you choose to home school your children, fine, home school them. "

The reason why some decide to home school their kids is because of the growing number of teachers like that.

p allen "Frankly, I believe if you have the means, skills and the knowledge to home school your children, it's much better than having them in a classroom of 35-40 other student"

Yeah that makes sense allen. The teacher can impose their thoughts on the kids and they will be punished if they don't accept the brainwashing right?

CB says;"If you are naive enough to think that this so called teacher is rare, then you to open your eyes."

Ahhh... I have been a public school teacher for 26 years. Are there teachers who express their political views to their students? Sure there is! The question is; "is it the norm, or, do all teachers do so"? The answer is NO!

Furthermore, those teachers who do express one-sided political views to students, their idea's can range from Democrat to Republican, from Libertarian to Green, ect...!

In fact, politicians often make "appearances" in local public schools, high schools in particular. Such "appearances" are often viewed, and used, as laying the ground work for future voters and supporters.

Also, in many cases students want to know, and ask their teachers views on certain candidates or the candidates policies. I'm not saying that it's right for a teacher to impress or force their political views on students. But I will say that from my experience, "most" teachers would not attempt to "indoctrinate" their students with any particular political philosophy.

Do you know how many teachers supported Obama vs. McCain? At my school there were two out of 12 who supported McCain. The other 10 supported Obama, including wearing Obama pins, shirts etc...

And that teacher should be fired...

No teacher should express their political views in a classroom period allen. Also no teacher should attack a student for him or her having one. Why do you think most young people are mostly liberal in their views allen? They learn this crap in the public educational system and in colleges and universities. I hear about students all the time being threatened by teachers to impact their grades if the student doesn't mindlessly repeat the liberal talking points by the teacher. Since you are a liberal allen, it doesn't surprise me that you would be blind to what teachers were teaching students right under your nose. To you it was just common sense.

I think your right stefan, California has now mandated that the parent has a degreee in teaching, so in essence you could call it a ban. True that not everybody can afford home schooling, but that teacher is an example in a long list of examples on why parents need to find out what their kids are being feed to them in the form of "education" in the public schools.

2 out 12?!!!lol lol I bet the two teachers that supported McCain will get dirty looks from the other 10 teachers when they sit in the teacher's lounge vegas lol. Public schools are just an indoctrination center funded by tax payer dollars. How sad is that?!

******

No, California did NOT ban homeschooling. However, what they did attempt to do, was to enforce strict regulation, which was contrary to California mandates in regards to homeschooling, as well as trying to enforce that homeschooling parents had to be certified. This was fought, and won, by California homeschoolers.

The California Court of Appeal for the Second Appellate District vacated it's earlier decision, ultimately deciding unanimously that "California statutes permit home schooling as a species of private school education."

So yes Virginia, it IS legal to homeschool in California, as well as every other state in the country.

HTH!

People on the left are only open-minded if your view is the same as theirs. I can say this because I was a "person on the left" for several years until I realized just how hate-filled, narrow-minded and un-Christian that viewpoint is. I can also say this because my mother continues to be a person on the left which makes me unbelievable sad anytime politics comes up when we're together - so much so that when she brings the subject up, I either change it or remain silent.

True allyhm, liberals view diversity as everybody of different races, religions and creeds thinking like them. I believe it's more like the borg collective if anything.

Trust me, I can relate to everything you said. I wasn't a full blown liberal, but I was a Democrat with middle to left leaning views. I accepted those views primarily because of the color of my skin. Then I did some deep soul searching, and I realized that I was believing viewpoints of others that didn't reflect my true values. As soon as I broke away from the ideological and partisan stamp that others tried to put on me due to my race, that is when I found out quick oh so "tolerant" liberalism and Democrats really were lol lol. Standing up for your convictions in this wicked world definitely isn't easy but it is just.

This has always been the plan of attacks by communists for the last 30 years to try and change the fabric of American society. To mold a person's way of thinking, they knew they have to get to them while they are young and keep reinforcing their indoctrination all through the higher educational levels. They have polluted the courts, and the legislative bodies at the state and federal levels. This teacher IS NOT a "rare exception" she is example of the "norm".

CB,

Well, I can say that I was raised Democrat but it had nothin to do with my race (I'm caucasian) but to everything do to with being born and raised "in the south". Trouble is, the same "south" instilled in me some very conservative religious views which I finally realized did not line up at all with the Democratic party's ideology. On the plus side, my mother's very liberal leanings DID counter the typical white southern upbringing that generally includes racism. That, I think, is the only good thing that came out of parental "liberalism"! :)
