Since retailers can't acknowledge "Christmas", why should shoppers acknowledge them during the "Christmas season"?

Political Correctness is something that is designed for people that are scared to potential "offend" another person. Like most liberal ideology, everybody must adhere to their thought process of sheer stupidity. Every year for a while now retailers have been white washing the word Christmas out of it's Christmas advertisement and replacing it with the words "Happy Holidays". It has gotten to a point now that the management of certain retailers have told their employees to say only Happy Holiday to it's customers out of fear of "offending a customer". Retailers know that the day after Thanksgiving" known as Black Friday" is the biggest shopping day of the season, and it represents the unofficial start of the "Christmas shopping season". This time of the year is when retailers make most of their profits. That is why it is called "black" Friday, because the Christmas shopping season is when most retailers actually earn their profit to go into the black instead of in the red. Here are my thoughts on retailer's "reasoning" for using Happy Holiday instead of Christmas. If retailers are so afraid of offending people by advertising for Christmas shoppers using the word Christmas, how about they don't have any sales during that period at all? What the retail establishments want is to "have their cake and eat it too". They want to have the profits from the shoppers shopping for Christmas and not potentially "offend" a person that doesn't like Christmas for whatever reason. I've made it a game within the last two weeks to say Merry Christmas to anyone that says to me "Happy Holidays". I haven't' experienced the wrath of the politically correct thought police yet. If someone does say something too me about saying Merry Christmas, I'll just look them in their eyes and say "I am offended that you took offense to what I said", then I'll wait for their response. With the economy forcing retailers to cut their prices as much as 50% due to the lack of shoppers this season, maybe this is a round about way payback by the customers in a way by not acknowledging them. Karma is a funny thing. On a different note. Don't ever believe liberals when they say they are tolerant of anything especially when it comes to religion. This is what the liberal Democrat Governor of the liberal state of Washington has allowed in regards to "religious expression" among liberal atheists. Of course no outrage by "liberal Christians" can be found on this.

Christmas is not an atheistic holiday and, as far as I know, there are no nationally recognized holidays for atheists. So I would have to agree with O'reilly that the sign is out of place and could be viewed as offensive to some.

By the same token, all other religious displays, symbols and culture (on this a "Christian" holiday), should not be imposed upon Christians during the Christmas holiday. This would include Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Agnostic, ect... type displays during the Christmas holiday.

Presently, Christmas and Easter are the only religious federal holidays sign into law. All other religions should respect the Christians right, and the law, and not imposed their views upon Christians during the religious celebration.

As other religions in this country began to grow in numbers, what needs to be done is for those religions to petition the government for a federal holiday.

Having the right to practice whatever religion you want offers the opportunity for a federal Hanukkah, Ramadan, Rosh Hashanah, Las Posadas, Ascension of Baha'u'llah, Declaration of the Bab Baha'i...whatever!

If and when these religious holidays become law, they should be respected and celebrated in the same light as Christmas and Easter.

To all here at Wake up Black America, have a very Merry Christmas!

Instead of liberal atheists throwing hissy fits because of their own person insecurity over the Christmas holiday, they should create their own day. Then again allen, that wouldn't please them either. Let me revert to the liberal handbook for an example. Originally gay groups said that they want to have "the same rights" as heterosexual couples, so civil unions were promoted to "accommodate" gays that felt "excluded", it gave them all the rights of marriage just didn't have the name of marriage. Of course true to form, civil unions now isn't good enough for them. This is the same thing that will happen even if atheists were to have "their own day". It's not about them having their own "holiday", it's about them wanting to take out Christianity at all costs. The exclusion excuse is just that an excuse in which to try and accomplish their attacks allen. As I said before and will continue to say. Liberals never have just one cause, they use one cause to mask the true cause they are seeking.

P Allen "By the same token, all other religious displays, symbols and culture (on this a "Christian" holiday), should not be imposed upon Christians during the Christmas holiday. This would include Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Agnostic, ect... type displays during the Christmas holiday."

Since Hanukkah is observed around the same time as Christmas allen, that is why people would normally say "Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas. America was founded on Judah Christian principals. So it is fitting that those two holidays be acknowledged.

p allen "Presently, Christmas and Easter are the only religious federal holidays sign into law. All other religions should respect the Christians right, and the law, and not imposed their views upon Christians during the religious celebration."

Since this country was founded with Judah principals I suppose you are right allen. On the flip side, people of other religions should be able to worship as they see fit. I don't see atheism as a religion, so for them to have a national atheist day or something along those lines is kinda funny.

P Allen "If and when these religious holidays become law, they should be respected and celebrated in the same light as Christmas and Easter"

Christmas and Easter hold roots with the beliefs of the founding fathers. The new settlers weren't muslims or hindu's or of any other religion allen. With that being said, people have the right to worship as they see fit.

P Allen "To all here at Wake up Black America, have a very Merry Christmas"

Same to you Allen. Don't let a liberal find out that you said "Christmas" allen lol

chilerkle "This pseudo tolerance is nothing but bigotry against Christians and anyone who doesn't tow the politically correct party line!"

That is their ulterior motive chilerkle. Have you notice that liberals never say anything negative about radical islam but will attack Christianity and even Judaism in a heartbeat chilerkle?

chilerkle "I really despise liberals and their two-faced self-righteous hypocrisy and not so well disguised bigotry."

I'm right with you on that chilerkle 10,000% and then some!

chilerkle "
Some whiny little liberal bitch on youtube whined because someone equate Horton hears a Who with an Anti Abortion message!I really wish that moron would meditate instead of crying like a little bitch on youtube!"

You have to admit chilerkle, liberals do cry about everything better then anyone else, lol. I got one better for you chilkerle. Liberals attacked Sarah Palin by calling her a "racist". because she made fun of Obama being a community organizer. Liberals go beyond sanity to try and find something to attack other people with. When they can't defend their position, they have to go nuclear mental to grasp at anything to try and make their argument with chilerkle. You've witnessed it as I. They're pathetic.

Actually Christmas is not a Christian Holiday either. Or at least it didn't used to be, The winter sultice holiday has its roots in a few Pagan beliefs, down to the tree, gift sharing and festival atmosphere. However christians were trying to appeal and pander to pagasns so they said hey christianity is fun, look instead of celebrating Saturnalia celebrate it as a Jesus day, yeah Jesus was born in the spring but lets change it to Dec 25 so the pagans can still have fun. So actually its not a "christian" holiday. HOwever all that said i don't believe in forcing people to say happy holidays. I don't celebrate Christmas and i don't celbrate the Holiday season either. But if someone says merry christmas i give it to them back no reason to not be merry.

Oh i forgot one more thing to P anthony Allen, The founding fathers likely weren't much into celebrating christmas, it wasn't declared a holiday until 1870 and during the times of the founding fathers it wasn't a particularly American holiday.
