Herman Cain vs Bill Clinton 1994

Herman Cain back in 1994 actually had an unformal debate exchange with then President Bill Clinton at a Town Hall event in which Clinton was stumping his (Hillary's) Health Care Bill. This is why progressives fear the living hell out ofHerman Cain winning the GOP nomination. This unknown man at the time took on with ease the President of the United States directly, confidently and without pause. Clinton by far is a much slicker politician and by far a more polished debater then Obama could ever be. So a Herman Cain vs Barack Obama debate would be Obama's and his supporter's worst nightmare come true.See for yourself.

This is why having a business man in the white house instead of another politician makes so much sense.

One response.... YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND!

By your own admittance, Cain has no political experience. Foreign policy is possibly just that to Cain...FOREIGN! Moreover, the exchange between Clinton and Cain could hardly be viewed as a "debate", let alone a presidential debate.

Being that Cain has somehow become the GOP polled frontrunner, he's beginning to attract the main stream media vetting process. Already he's made a totally dumb statement about placing an electrified fence on the Mexican border. On the Israeli Palestinian question, he had no idea of what is the Palestinian "right of return." Cain mangled the pronunciation of Uzbekistan calling it a "small insignificant state in the world." So he obviously didn't know that Uzbekistan is a major supply route for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Herman Cain is a sideshow. He's just saying all the crap that far right-wingers want to hear. He has absolutely no political experience. That, and that alone boasts his appeal to the far right.

His so-called "999" plan has been vetted, and every "SANE" political economist and watcher calls it a dud. Socially he against abortion in all cases, including saving the life of the woman! Ron Paul caught him in a lie over his comments on why he opposed an audit of the central bank. I suspect that the Cain campaign will implode sooner that you might think...

Just watched the GOP candidate debate. Perry and Romney tore into each other as expected. At times it seemed as though none of the other candidates were even there...

But this thread is about Herman Cain. In my opinion, Romney, Perry and Ron Paul treated Cain as if he was the neighborhood retard. All the candidates made it perfectly clear that were not in support of his "999" tax increase plan. Cain also doubled down on his "blaming the unemployed" nonsense. In response, Ron Paul criticized Cain for blaming the people who have been hurt by the financial crisis through no fault of their own.

The Tax Policy Center also gives the details of Cains plan a failing grade.

However, if you're a millionaire you shouldn't have a problem with it. But, if you make less than $200,000 a year, you'd be an idiot and a fool to support his plan. I fall in the to 50k+ range, a bit higher if I work during the summer. According to Cains plan I would pay about $4400 more.

Now mind you, Herman Cain is supposedly the "Tea Party" (T.E.A., or "Taxed Enough Already") candidate. Lets see how stupid of an answer you conservatives can come up with to rationalize why the tea baggers would support someone who wants to raise taxes.

Why would the tea baggers support a candidate the clearly proposes an increase in taxes? I know that one of you conservative here can spin up a nonsensical reason of some sort. After watching that debate tonight, I'm open to any type of buffoonery...

I am no right-winger and i compared him to everyone else. He is still high on my list. What do you want, another four years of Obama? Please.

Art Laffer likes it and this guy is no dumb economist. True that he needs to lay it out more but just you wait.

"Ron Paul caught him in a lie over his comments on why he opposed an audit of the central bank."

I think something was taken out of context there. I saw that session myself. Something is not right and Ron Paul is not a bad guy but he is a bit weak in certain zones.

I agree. Now even Obama is attacking Cain's 999. Cain is now on Obama's political radar and with good reason.
Obama can't hold a candle to Cain. With Obama having so many weaknesses, how can he possibly go on the attack against Cain in a debate?

p allen "One response.... YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND!"

That is solely you allen. I've been telling you years to put them that 8 mile crack pipe you be smoking when you post something mental.

p allen "By your own admittance, Cain has no political experience. Foreign policy is possibly just that to Cain...FOREIGN! Moreover, the exchange between Clinton and Cain could hardly be viewed as a "debate", let alone a presidential debate. "

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL, Riddle me this batman, what was Obama's foreign policy experience prior to elected? If you hear crickets in the background, you'll know why. Genius, and I do you the word sparingly allne, why do you think Obama picked Joe Biden as his VP? It was because of Joe Biden's foreign policy experience( as bad as it is). Hell, didn't Obama say that the Afghans speak "Arabic"? So you have the laughable nerve to point a finger at Cain? lol nice!! I never said the exchange between Cain and Clinton was a presidential debate, but it did show that Cain can more then hold his own ground in one, big difference.

p allen "Being that Cain has somehow become the GOP polled frontrunner, he's beginning to attract the main stream media vetting process."

If only the media lapdog media would have vetted Obama, oh well. I guess now they are trying to make up for that mainly because Obama's most serious challenge has a R by his name.

I can go down a laundry list of dumb things Obama has said running for president and over the last 3 years. Wait a minute, I've done videos on Obama gaffes. Is Obama still seeing dead soldiers in the crowd on Memorial Day allen? How many jobs have Obama "created OR saved"? Has he talked to the Navy "CORPSEMEN" lately? Is he scheduled to visit all "57" states during his campaign? I do commend his father for "liberating the Jews in Auschwitz" if only in his mind he did. That's just scratching the surface. If you want to got there, let me know allen.

p allen "Herman Cain is a sideshow. He's just saying all the crap that far right-wingers want to hear. He has absolutely no political experience. That, and that alone boasts his appeal to the far right. "

If Cain is a side show, Obama has to be a running gag joke that was actually elected.Obama was elected for two reasons. He wasn't Bush and the color of his skin. People over the last few years have wised up to the error of their ways, and it looks like those two "qualifiers" won't be a fact come next year.

A sane political economist to you is one who believes the government must debt spend on fake shovel ready jobs in order to fix the economy. Keynesian economists are laughable. Any idiot knows that the economy is private sector consumer driven, so only a fool would embrace the madness that the government spending hundreds of billions of dollars it doesn't even have will be the medicine to heal the economy. I'll take what Laffer and others say anyday about 999 thank you. Cain is still at the top, sorry allen. As for Paul, the candidates, the GOP establishment and many conservatives believe Paul is a kook who attracts the fringe. As for Cain being caught in a lie, Obama has been lying from the the time he announced he was running for president, and he got elected. So I hope you have a point worth taking seriously. As for the "The Tax Policy Center" trashing 999. Big shock that a liberal group would frown on 999. The Tax Policy Center is made up of two liberal think tanks, the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution. I apologize for laughing at you allen., but that was funny.

p allen "Now mind you, Herman Cain is supposedly the "Tea Party" (T.E.A., or "Taxed Enough Already") candidate. Lets see how stupid of an answer you conservatives can come up with to rationalize why the tea baggers would support someone who wants to raise taxes. "

999 is tax neutral. The big lie is that the sales tax portion raises taxes on the poor, it doesn't. I can explain it to you, but as always, it would be a waste of time, because you will only believe what you want to believe and facts be dammed, so whatever allen. So keep repeating the lie and making yourself look like the the southbound end of a wrong side mule. Just one note. Did it ever occur to you that the Tea Part folks are smarter then you give them credit for, and that they know exactly how 999 works?

Allen you are in left field. Cain knows his stuff. Knowing foreign policy comes and goes as it changes daily. Dailyits, Greece, Rome and then America.

The 999 Plan is better than the Communist/Socialist plan of our governments.

Notice that Obama had to declare Usama a non Muslim and targeted all AlQaeda as terrorists. The other Muslims believe the same way.
They all await the 12th Iman to come out of the well-the deceiver, schemer, liar known as Satan the Devil.

His conscious is clear by killing an apostate, but was Usama one? NO. All Muslims believe in Sharia
and that includes killing or enslaving all non Muslims, mostly blacks. Sex with children, 4 permanent wives and as many temporary wives as they want. Wives for an hour.

Shia are called Muta wives
Sunni are called Misyar

Usama had as many as he wanted, just like the Mormons.

Joseph Smith who started the Mormons said he wanted to be the next Mohammed on October 14,1838 during the Mormon Wars. Both served
a nameless allah with two different angels. The Bible said if an angel from heaven comes down and tell you any thing diffferent
dont listen. Both angels, Jibreel os Islam and Moroni of Mormons said different words from Jesus. Muslims said everyone is a Muslim
and so did Mormons as long as they were white.

Allen that leaves us out!

""Lowering taxes does not increase revenue to the government," says Arthur Laffer, Laffer Associates founder/chairman, who adds that very high income people are more elastic with respect to their income and the government will actually lose money by raising tax rates on them. Raising taxes on lower income earners will bring more money to the government, he says, because they can't hide it so easily; with Marshall Sonenshine, Sonenshine Partners chairman/CEO".

It's not that Laffer is a dumb economist or a smart one. Laffer agrees with Herb Cain because Cains plan lowers taxes on millionaires and raises taxes on lower income earners. Laffer supports Herbs plan because Laffer is rich. Its like p allen says. If you are a lower income earner and you support Cains plan you are a fool.

No it does not. It is a consumption based tax. Show us where the lower income are effected by 999. All current taxes are thrown out and replaced by 999. A good amount of private sector jobs were created under Reagan, can you name how may jobs in the private sector were created under Obama?

anon "Laffer agrees with Herb Cain because Cains plan lowers taxes on millionaires and raises taxes on lower income earners.""

I must be missing something with the use of the word "herb" in place of Herman. I'm sure someone will clue me in. Since lower income earners don't make hardly anything compared to richer American's, what is there to take? How can something be taken from nothing when the 1% pay the majority of the taxes? Lowering taxes does raise revenue. It's just common sense. Since our nation historically isn't known for saving, our nation is known for spending and consumption. Follow the logic.

The more people have of their own money=the more spending will take place in the economy=more tax revenue that is generated from the increased spending. Even a cave man should be able to follow this, that includes progressives.

CB;"999 is tax neutral. The big lie is that the sales tax portion raises taxes on the poor, it doesn't".

The state sales tax in Michigan is 6%. Cain proposes a 9% national sales tax. 6 + 9 = 15. Hmmmmmm? That means that sales tax on all goods will go up to 15%, a 150% increase. So, you're right! It doesn't raise taxes on the poor... IT RAISES TAXES ON EVERYONE! But the cold hard fact is, the poor are the ones who will feel the pain and hurt the most.

CB;"I can explain it to you, but as always, it would be a waste of time, because you will only believe what you want to believe and facts be dammed, so whatever allen".

Just as I thought Tyrone. And it's a smart thing you didn't, and don't even try to rationalize the Tea Party's support of Cain. An explanation would have required that you "make something up" to boaster a totally idiotic point of view. Tyrone, you're good at making stuff up, but you're not that good.

There is no clear ideological reason for the tea bag support of Cains 999 plan. The plan, which calls for tax increases, is a polar opposite of the Tea Party's so-called purpose. So the question is this;

Why would the Tea Party support Cains tax increase plan, yet they opposed allowing the Bush Tax cuts expiration? The Cain plan raises taxes on over 80% of Americans. President Obama proposed allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire on upper income persons, effectively lowering taxes on 80% of Americans.

To Anonymous: Comsumption taxes hit lower income people harder. You are foolish to think otherwise. If you dont think so then take whatever is the sales tax in your state and double it. Then start paying it for every thing you buy.

Ronald Reagan is dead. He became president two years before I was born. Jobs created during the 80s has nothing to do with 2011. Conservatives dont want democrats to dig up what George Bush did to the economy but they always dig up Reagan.

To Alpha male: You said lower income have little or nothing nothing to pay in taxes. Then you said lower taxes raise revenue. Low income people dont have much to spend in the first place. If low income people don't pay much tax how can lower taxes raise revenue? How stupid can you be to believe that crap?

Gerald T "To Anonymous: Comsumption taxes hit lower income people harder. You are foolish to think otherwise. If you dont think so then take whatever is the sales tax in your state and double it. Then start paying it for every thing you buy."

Actually, you are the foolish and naive one Gerald. Progressives have been saying for as long as I can remember that the rich, high income earners etc consume more of the world's resources then the poor. So using their own words, the rich and high income earners will actually be paying far, far more under a consumption tax then the poor, because the rich makes more. It's simple logic. The left's idea of economic equality is the rich paying a higher tax burden then the those who are not rich. That is why when a tax model that comes along "999" with everybody regardless of income paying the same tax rate, progressives call it unfair and that it will hurt the poor the most, funny. You all stand for tax inequality aka wealth redistribution through taxation.

p allen "The state sales tax in Michigan is 6%. Cain proposes a 9% national sales tax. 6 + 9 = 15. Hmmmmmm? That means that sales tax on all goods will go up to 15%, a 150% increase. Shouldn't the poor along with the middle class and rich pay for the services you progressives say we need. I thought I leftists believed "paying taxes is patriotic". What is more fair then every body paying their "fair share"? The sales tax off 999 doesn't apply to food and clothing. Follow how insane the left's argument is on this allen. First. the argument by the left was that the rich needs to pay more in taxes, but when a plan that is presented where the same people who point the finger claiming rich needed to pay more taxes is also pointed BACK AT THEM, then they bitch and moan. So how is equality in taxation not fair?

I'm not even saying 999 is perfect, because it isn't. I will give 100% credit to Cain for at least trying to present a solution the problem. The only thing progressives like you and Republican nomination hopefuls can do is a sit back and attack 999 without offering an alternative as a solution. Anybody can bitch about a problem, at least Cain is man enough to offer an attempt at a solution. When was the last time Democrats in Congress submitted a budget allem? I know they bitch at Republicans for theirs. Obama is now attacking 999. Where in the hell is his tax reform plan?

This idiot had the nerve to come here and attempt to fool the "hardened" and hardly employed people of Detroit. After publicly stating that, "if you don't have a job, it's your own fault", how stupid can you be to come to a city that has suffered the largest amount of job losses in the country?

Herman Cain is playing the GOP presidential race for personal gain. He's a colorful motivational speaker singing the "right"-wing song, selling books (buying his own book with campaign funds) and gaining popularity among conservatives. Basically, he playing you all for suckers!

First off Anon, didn't you get the memo? The "999" plan has morphed into a "909" plan. It appears it's dropped "90 points" over the span of one day. I hope your broker advised you to dump and sell....

I can't speak for Mr. T., but I do remember the economic prosperity of the 1990's. It seems to me if we were to go back to the taxing and spending levels of the Clinton era, it would be a positive and productive first step.

Rehashing an old plan that worked really should be a no brainer. But the present congress (eg. the Republicans) refuse to take any steps to help the economy improve.

Just the other day President Obama announced that he was ending all military involvement in Iraq. The Iraq war has cost the U.S. $800 billion per year. And, according to former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank and Noble Prize winning economist, Joseph Stiglitz, the total cost may indeed be $3 to 5$ trillion!!!

Still, Republicans are attacking the presidents decision to end the costly occupation.

So while the American people are protesting everything from high taxes, to high national government debt, wall street and bank bailouts, high unemployment, mortgage foreclosures, social security, medicare, which cost all of us something. Yet these Republicans want to continue to spend TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS in a country that didn't attack us, had no so-called "Weapons of Mass Destruction", where the PEOPLE don't want us there, and does nothing to cure the aforementioned woes we have presently right here in America!!!

So whats you tax plan Anon?

Blogger p. anthony allen said...

Anon;"Did that not have something to do with a Republican controlled house , a President willing to go center unlike our current one and a man by the name of Newt?.

No, actually the Clinton Tax hikes (republican controlled house) slowed economic growth. That page also shows the 1997 "tax cuts", where they say the economy saw "spectacular and accelerating growth."

The G.W. Bush Presidential Bio says this;

"Faced with a recession when he took office, President Bush cut taxes for every federal income taxpayer, which helped set off an unprecedented 52 straight months of job creation.. The quote, "when he took office", implies the recession was already under way. However, when Bush left office with his tax cuts still intact he had the worse record of job creation on record.

Confused yet?

Anon;"I dare you to rebuttal that", referring to the "Reasons for the Iraq War".

Colin Powell went to the U.N. specifically stating that Iraq had WMD's. President Bush addressed the nation on television warning of the possibility of a "mushroom cloud." Sure, a slew of democrats said that Iraq had WMD's. The fact is THEY ALL WERE WRONG!!

If Bush, who was president at the time, took the babbling of the Democrats, foreign officials, and neo-conservative war hawks, as reasons to spend TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS, 4000+ BRAVE SOLDIERS LIVES, TENS OF THOUSANDS AMERICAN SOLDIERS WOUNDED FOR LIFE, COUNTLESS IRAQI CITIZENS KILLED AND WOUNDED, who should be held responsible for being wrong?

Who should be held responsible for the lives lost? Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi for their "statements" in 1998? Former President Clinton for his incorrect assumption in 1998? Perhaps our "trusted military ally" Russian President Vladimir Putin, who told the U.S. "that official organs of Saddam Hussein might attack military installations of the U.S." Try telling that to a soldier who lost limbs, or a parent, spouse or sibling who's loved one was killed.

Try telling a mother her son gave his life in Iraq to prevent Saddam Hussein from paying $25,000 bonuses to the families of Palestinian homicide bombers in Israel.

Moreover, try to convince anyone in the entire world that Iraq had the so-called "WMD's." If they believe you, I'll invite you both to my farm where the goats, pigs and chickens perform a complete Bach Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra, and a Sinfonia Concertante for Violin. Oh yeah, you've got to hear the cows oratorio, "Meine Freundin, du bist schon."
